ABOUT US - PHILOSOPHY

Each member of The Gym on Locke represents a valuable part of our community, and by empowering members to become stronger and healthier it makes our community a better place to live. We also believe that how we do that is very important. After all, our experiences make us who we are. Therefore, we provide a nurturing atmosphere that inspires members to discover their greatest potential in a uniquely intimate, safe, and friendly environment.

Gym On LockeWe employ a highly experienced and diverse team of elite Personal Fitness Trainers who care about the needs of our members. Combined with our exclusive state-of-the-art facility, our trainers help members to achieve a variety of personal fitness goals with individualized programs for beginners, intermediates, and elite athletes. We want you to be your best, feel your best, and look your best. We don’t settle for less, why would you?

Once inside the The Gym on Locke, you’ll notice the warm hardwood floors, earthy red brick walls, and the bright light refracting through our picturesque bay windows. Our limited membership policy supports and maintains this comfortable atmosphere to ensure the availability of our state of the art equipment and quality training staff. Watch your favorite television program, or bring your mp3 player and integrate your personal entertainment into our individual audio/video stations, or better yet, follow the lead of our virtual cycle trainer as he takes you on a customized spin class for the ride of your life!

Our two floors of free weights provide the foundation of any fitness program. Along with a wide selection of dumbbells, benches, steppers, and advanced training tools, we’ll also be happy to demonstrate our unique and challenging Jacobs Ladder, an incredible full body workout for the active lifestyle. Shape, tone, and strengthen your body with our complete collection of Atlantis, Hammer Style, Smith Machine, Functional Trainers, and Max Rack, for the safest and most effective resistance training.

Relax after your workout on the fully furnished, private, outdoor patio overlooking the neighborhood.

We have two private restrooms, one with a shower, and keyed lockers and cubbies, and we offer 24 hour, seven days a week access to our security friendly establishment, equipped with passkey technology and video surveillance, as well as a 24/7 personal security alert system. Conveniently located in the heart of Locke St, this exclusive boutique experience is unmatched.


ABOUT STEFAN

Stefan Witt is proud to be a 25 year resident of the Locke St. community. His family and career have grown thanks to the health and fitness industry, making him a veteran of the industry and a long-term ambassador to the neighbourhood. After many years of working with large fitness chains, Stefan became dissatisfied with the dollars and cents direction that the fitness industry has taken. Motivated by his vision of something better, more personal, Stefan now creates a place where people can relax and be themselves while they get fit, a place where friendships grow in atmosphere of care and support. The Gym on Locke goes the extra mile to provide services you can’t get elsewhere, and limits membership to maintain the highest standard of quality and availability. This is no ordinary gym; this is a unique neighbourhood fitness experience. The club is always in pristine condition, the equipment is the latest in exercise technology, the facility is cleaned around the clock, and video surveillance monitors the 24/7 safe, friendly, and comfortable environment.
